Kobeřice

The oldest mention of Kobeřice comes from 1183, but it is considered as a falsification. The first written mention of town is later on, in 1236. In 1962 the surface gypsous mine was opened. 

 

The church of Virgin Mary - a neogothic church from 1895 - 96 was built at place, where used to be a wooden church, The bells come from 1487 and 1499

Kobeřice is an older town in Opava region. 15 km long distance from Opava, situated in the white river valley, 251 m above the sea level. The north-west part of Kobeřice forms a border with Poland.
