Historically the first written mention of Kravaře goes far back to 1224. In 1238 was at first mentioned Kouty a village, which is nowadays part of Kravaře. Another part called Dvořisko was at first mentioned in the second half of 18th century.
Chateau in Kravaře is one of the most famous baroque buildings in Silesia. The chateau earned its uniqueness 1721 - 28, when it had been rebuilt by the owner, Jan Rudolf from Eichendorff′s clan.
As you are approaching Kravaře, the first thing you will see is the Saint Bartholomew′s church. The oldest part of this building is a white renaissance tower from the 1st third of 16 th century.
There is also an example of Silesian baroque: the chapel of saint Florian, which comes from 18 th century.

The Silesian town Kravaře is situated in Poopavská lowland, on river Opava, 10 km east from Opava, 14 km south from polish borders and 25 km west from region town Ostrava.
